ABOUT US

Our practice was founded in 1942 by Dr. Paul Cusick and was brought to the forefront when he became the first ophthalmologist to perform cataract surgery live on television. He was joined by Dr. Michael Michael and several other notable ophthalmologists over the years who were early pioneers in cataract and retinal procedures, also employing preeminent optometrists to serve a budding contact lens industry. Following the move of Providence Hospital from Detroit to the suburbs, we established two offices conveniently located on the Ascension Providence Hospital campuses in Southfield and Novi, Michigan. Surgical services are provided at these hospitals as well as Straith Hospital and Novi Surgical Center.

Our physicians, Mary J. Elnick, M.D., Tobias George, M.D., and Dr. Sayeeda Fatima, M.D., have  years of experience treating complex and routine eye diseases, and performing surgery for Cataracts, Glaucoma and many other eye conditions. Dr. Ken Stein and Dr. Chris Theodoroff, our optometrists, specialize in health screening eye exams for adults and children, prescribing eye glasses, soft and gas permeable contact lenses and difficult fit contacts.

Our aim is to provide excellent eye care in a compassionate and supportive environment and we are here to assist you with your family's eye-care needs.  We accept Medicare and most standard health insurance and vision plans.
